Location: Club Moka, Queens, NYC.
When it comes to launching new albums or taking one’s career to new levels, Caribbean artistes are now frequently heading to the big apple to do it in a big way.
The festive Queens hotspot called Club Moka was recently host to Reggae/Dancehall crooner Craig Marsh better known to music fans as Serani.
Club Moka’s ambience made the perfect setting for Serani to have his album release party as the club possessed the right elements which made it an appropriate reflection of the songs on the much anticipated “No Games” record.
The event which was actually free saw a long line of party goers and “Seraniholics” waiting to enter and indulge in a weekend session starring one of the most requested Caribbean artistes. Club Moka with its comfortable, uniquely decorated interior, seductive lighting designs, drink specials and ofcourse top of the line selectors in the city provided the accurate setting for the Jamaican billboard music star to shine.
Serani’s entrance for his performance caused a huge rush of attendees from the bar and outside areas to the main stage. Fans crowded around the entertainer and stood on everything from couches and chairs to bartops and boyfriends’ shoulders.
The DancehallSoca team happened to catch a glimpse of the performer doing his thing, especially when it came to appealing to the female audience members. Serani indeed had the crowd singing along to the tracks of his album especially his commercial smashes “She Loves Me” and the album’s title track, “No Games”.
Those in attendance who couldn’t physically view him, just took in the music and the festive surrounding that Club Moka had to offer. Although the actual performance itself may have been difficult to truly enjoy, the night was certainly a success as evidenced by the numerous patrons still singing and dancing long after the music had stopped and the club lights were turned on.
Serani, no stranger to NYC, seemed to have had a ball performing at this particular venue and likewise Club Moka which has attracted some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names thoroughly enjoyed the Serani experience.
DancehallSoca.com thanks the staff at Club Moka for their spot on service and also extends gratitude to Rhona and Michelle from Rhona Fox Inc for the invitation to cover this event.
