DancehallSoca.com learned about Tina Nunezz from a tune she did with Buju called"Bad boy.”   We liked that song so much we had to find out more.  We learned that Tina brings to the Dancehall Reggae scene a quiet confidence.

What is Bad Boy all about?

That song is about a guy who knows how to do his thing.  [Laughing]  He can handle his business.  You can hear it all in the song.

When did you start professionally?

 About two years ago.

What was the first song you wrote?

I wrote poetry from I was little.  I did a song called “Rescue Me” as a demo.

What was Rescue me about?

It was a song about feeling vulnerable.

What part of Kingston are you from?

Kingston 19.  I am always at the Sly and Robbie studio and Zawdie Entertainment which is down the street.

Do you feel like you are learning a lot from Sly and Robbie?

In terms of the business, there is so much to learn.  I continue to learn so a lot.

What are some of the best advice that you were given by those guys?

Sly said that when recording a song you have to put all your emotions and yourself into the song.

How are you preparing yourself for the world stage?

I do a lot that continues to groom me.  I am always writing music. Continue working hard.  I recently did work with Ja Snow Cone and he produced a song called “Thug luv” with Mad Cobra

What is the difference between the interviews you do with Radio, TV, internet, and magazine?

You have to learn to compose yourself.  The questions that people throw at you are interesting.

 And Weird?

 Yes… [Laughs]

Where do you see yourself 5-10 years from now?

Oh god, I hate that questions [laughs]

Why? Our segment is called “Dem a Buss” so in ten Years we can look back and can be amazed at how far you made it.

I want to become a better singer and performer.  I want to meet people all over the world and do music production.

Who are you most compared to?

Tony Braxton.  I do not know why they say that.

You do have some similarities to her. It is not a bad comparison. What is Tina doing when she is not doing music?

Just being at home or maybe driving out to the country.

We always like to know something that people might not readily know you.

My mom’s parents are from Cuba.

What are the men’s response to Tina?

It is alright [laughing].  They give me a response.

That says it all [laughing].  Thanks a lot Tina for the interview.

 Thank you!
