DancehallSoca.com was a witness to Ras Ghandi's birthday bash at the West Indian Social Club in Hartford, CT.  The evening started off  slow as many patrons trickled in.  Artist Yello and Dewey Lickshot performed their tunes to warm a response.   The crowd was ready to get a dose of the main performance by Gyptian.  Unfortunately, when Gyptian hit the stage, most people did not recognize that it was him.   This was a result of Gyptian’s quiet demeanor as he tried to speak to the crowd before he started to sing.  Once he told the ladies “I can feel you pain(watch video)” it was clear that they were ready.   Hands hit the air and bodies move closer to the stage.  I wayne later took the stage performing his recent hits.  I wayne music is always thought provoking but after a few songs I wayne appeared to be doing more preaching than singing. Nevertheless, He performed well completing his set with an invitation by a young empress who did her one tune and continued moving.
