DANCEHALL VS THE GAY COMMUNITY
Dancehallsoca.comPUBLICATION
Ø Yes I’m back, I know I’ve been M.I.A (Missing In Action) for far too long as far as my commentaries are concerned but I had to fall back and just relax my mind, but I’m back and I’m ready to tell it the way I see it in my In Fi Mi Eyes Publications. Alright I have to admit I’ve been dodging this particular topic for sometime. Personally I don’t feel compelled to write about the woes Dancehall has faced as a direct result from several GAY agencies & associations worldwide. Frankly just commenting gives these so called human rights activists (claiming to denounce all forms of MURDER MUSIC) a wider audience, but believe me when I say I’m gonna argue this one to the wire even if it takes 2 or 3 more follow up pieces.
Ø Now what sparked my sudden interest is the persistence GAY organizations have to rid the world of Dancehall, it’s almost like they see us as that Final Frontier, maybe thinking If they can influence such a Heterosexual culture then maybe the world will open up and let them do as they please. Now I’m aware that there maybe a few visitors to this site that might just happen to be GAY and find this particular article offensive but understand this more than any Dancehall DJ your community is aggressive in trying to attract empathy when you are the ones campaigning aggressively to obstruct our beloved culture.
Ø Now I’m gonna try my very best to be fair. Recently Dancehall recording artist Elephant Man felt just how powerful the voice of a defiant GAY association in (Egale) Canada, JFLAG (Jamaicans for Lesbian & Gays) and the SSM (Stop the Murder Music Coalition) can prove. The DJ had two major show performances in Canada cancelled as a result of proposals made, expressing outrage against the promoters who booked the artist. What can I say GAYS have INFLUENCE, it’s like everyone is afraid to confront them.According to one popular Jamaican website the GAY Community has been winning round after round, but who on our side has really stepped up to the plate. (Well me of course) lol.
Ø No matter what justification given by these people for their sexual preference there’s no way on gods green EARTH I’m gonna sit back and not challenge them on these TECHNICALITIES they been using as an effective scare tactic. How can you say artists that sing offensive MURDER MUSIC is completely disrespecting humanitywhen you people have twisted GODS perfect union?I won’t even go BIBLICAL,how can you as a community justify stopping hard working musician that have risen from the slums and have done so much to help their own communities from earning an honest livingwhen no one is campaigning to push GAY persons out of a job.How can you campaign for humanity and equal rightswhen world leader not recording artist build bombs and send 18 year old youngsters to fight wars for world dictators who are so power hungry that they’re willing to sacrifice thousands of lives.
Ø Even though Dancehall might not be as unionized or organized as a GAY community MILLIONS of music lovers worldwide are standing up for Dancehall, the culture and what it represents. Man & Woman Straight, No Corner No Curve. Dancehall DJ’s will continue to make great music while they learn to teach the youngster what’s right from what we know is definitely wrong.
Ø Slavery was oppressive to the Black race for decades and no one apologized for that transgression, despite the fact we were wronged we moved forward. Jamaican artists have said quite a bit in their music about how militant they are against a certain lifestyle, YES there’s no denying that, but that violent approach is definitely a thing of the past. Dancehall no longer makes violent references but still stand firm against all backward ANALOGY.(You cant bring foolishness to Dancehall, THIS A REAL GHETTO SIT’N) Unlike the GAY community which is so sure they can do no wrong. Dancehall has broader horizons and no longer focus attention on people who don’t have any moral stance. Never before have I in my life thought the day would come when Men would act feminine in public then turn around and say accept me for who I am because I have rights just like you.Nope sorry it don’t work like that, PRIVATE is PRIVATE but once you touch that public space have respect for other peoples rights, the children’s right to recognize the difference between a man and woman without being confused.
Ø Hate it or Love it we all have to live on this earth together, as I’ve said Dancehall is no longer focused on what GAY persons practice but is however concerned so let’s call a truce. Its heart wrenching to see our artists being shafted and in the ending Dancehall VS The Gay Community has no winner. So JFLAG & SMM can cut out the petitions and media campaigns, Dancehall have done its part and it's up to the GAY Community to MAN UP.
