Describe what influenced you to start doing Soca music?

Singing is one of my passions and I started singing in church.   I started when I was about ten years old.  Soca is the most popular music in Trinidad, so naturally I picked up this music and started doing it all through High School.

In what year did you start to do music professionally?

I started professionally in 2002.  I felt like my father was leading me in that direction.

Is your father in the music business?

No, I meant the almighty.  My father and brother are in music as well.  My brother won Brooklyn Soca Monarch for 3 consecutive years.

“Soca in Dey” brings me back to Kitchener and Sparrow.  Was it intentional to bring this type of vibes back to Soca music?

Yes, it was my intention.  I called the producer and told him about some older tunes.  I had Shadow in mind.  The song came very close to what I had in mind for the vintage twist.

Wait until you hear my album.

 Tell us about the album?

I have 25 really good tracks recorded.  Only 14 will be on the album.  The album has a sentimental vibes.  I know that my kind of music has a place within Soca music.

What is the vibes for this album like?

Pleasant, not annoying but a real nice mixture.  It is a very tasteful album.  A little bacchanal in there too.

What is the title of your album?

 “Delivered”

Did you chose that name because of the obvious Postman reference or was it relating to you finally having a full length album out?

Both.  I am very satisfied with this material so it is delivered.  No turning back.

Who is distributing this album?

Ma$tamind will be the main source of distribution.  Where ever we go we will be selling CD's also.   Album will be launching May 19th.

What are some of the future plans for De Postman?

I will be going digital so that fans can download music anytime, anywhere, anytime.

My major goal is to sell one million copies.  My website www.Depostman.com will be up soon.

Is there anything to say to the people in DancehallSoca.com land?

Keep de Soca blazing.  Put Jah first.  Big up DancehallSoca.com for the opportunity.  www.myspace.com/depostman
