Ø     Its Friday 9:20pm and I’m doing my duty as a writer, I’m providing people with information to read. I feel reading is important so I try and make my “In fi mi eyes..”articles reader friendly, but truth be told it’s tuff finding the right material to pull more readers. Now believe me when I say I didn’t want to do this Beenie Man commentary because he took the cover of the Star publication for 5 days in 1 week and all that could be said about his current marital status has been published. I however felt my views as an entertainment commentator is important. “I mean I have fans too, plus its Friday anything goes…”

Ø     First a quick synopsis of the situation. Moses “Beenie Man”Davis married Michelle “Angel” Downer a little less than a year ago in an extravagant celebrity wedding. Beenie declared his love for Angel to the whole Jamaica. His exact words were “We a di Jay Z & Beyonce of Jamaica”. “Yea a dat the man say...” Keep in mind the new Mrs. Davis had just finished her 6 year stint with Beenie’s arch rival Rodney “Bounty Killa” Pryce who allegedly physical abused her during such time. Now from the get go person close to the couple said the marriage seemed sudden. Over a period of about 6 months there were rumors of verbal and physical conflicts between the two.

As it drew near to the Davis’s one year anniversary things got worst and reports reach media that during one of their regular fracas Mrs. Davis pushed her spouse in a window that landed him at the hospital step with minor injuries. “people is not me say so…” anyway leading up to Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest Beenie explained recently in an exclusive interview that he found out his wife had another man, and this is what ultimately lead to the unforgettable LIVE radio broadcast argument.

Ø     The story goes on but basically the marriage is over; both are adamant that divorce is the next and only option. “The Doctor even tek back him ring, the Benz and did want di big yard too but di girl lock it”. Now im a man that believe in love and when a man declares love to a woman is a serious thing “cause diamond no cheap again and no girl nah tek no one carrot, it have to be a farm with karats”. So I say make sure any girl you choose as wife you run a background check. “Not a police report ting but check her history if it level”. Beenie knew Angel history with the Killa and still went ahead. Next always have options to choose from or one might seem like the only. I know for a fact Beenie had options “my girlfriend loved him and only liked me so hey, he had options”.

Ø     So what was it about angel that was so appealing to the doctor, let’s see. “The girl independent, she have her own business establishment, she is a former model, she has great fashion sense, she’s gorgeous, laidback and wanted the crown beside her hussy as Queen of the Dancehall but we all know Lady Saw is the Queen of Dancehall”. That’s several good reasons to tie the knot but was the question popped too quickly? “Jah know if you can find a girl with so many positives why wait for a next man to first you, Beenie definitely did the right thing by flying half way across the globe to propose”.

Ø     As a couple they truly complimented each other, “he’s dapper she’s gorgeous, he rocks Gucci she style Fendi and him like cook food while she like to cook food”. Some how I think both being performing artists played a part in their marital collapse, rumors again circulated that Beenie’s career as a veteran overshadowed Angel as a newcomer. To me both were doing well as individuals with him holding the charts with “Reverse the Ting” & “Back it up” and her climbing it with the Vybes Katel featured “Baby father”. The tempo driven singles “Beenie Man” which say them as a duo had women calling just that “Beenie Man”. Strangely though Angel never once accused her “mi a di girl’s dem sugar. Sim Simma” hubby of being unfaithful. So why the hell my girl feel so insecure? “If you can answer that question I’ll big you up in next week’s commentary”. Anyway moving on…

Ø     Out of all this one must consider the baby youth MARCO DEAN “yep that’s his name”. Couple years from now when people forget and have moved on to the next celebrity disaster he will be reminded of it, intentional or not no one wants to hear about their parents going at it in the media. Beenie is a great man though, he’s stood the test of time in a harsh unfriendly Dancehall industry, he’s traveled the four corners of the world as an entertainer but more importantly is the work ethic and great knowledge of his art that he displays. We’ve all fell but how many of us are able to pick ourselves up. I’ve seen him do it time and again. So while many of us spread and commute gossip about the Dr. Moses make sure when push come to shove you can stand the test of time as well. “Mi done have my case aRedBullalready”. This is Beenie Man less one Angel but guess what Moses a GALLIS. “Me know it, you know it and him know it so if is notBarbeetoday is a nextcute face hottietomorrow”. Don’t hate APPRECIATE.
